Chapel of Peace Lutheran - Bagged groceries and Hot Breakfast on the Third Saturday of each month from 9 am -12 pm
First Lutheran, Inglewood - Bagged groceries on the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month from 10 am -12 pm**
Holy Trinity Lutheran - Bagged groceries on the Second and Fourth Saturday of each month starting at 1 pm
Iglesia Luterana Pueblo de Dios - Bagged groceries Thursday starting at 9 am
St. Mark's Lutheran - Hot Lunch every Thursday from 12 pm -1 pm

**Tickets are distributed the Wednesday before the each distribution. Tickets guarantee recipients a bag the following day.

Ministry in the City
During our J-Term session, we offer a five day mini course that explores the reality of urban ministry. Students are able to witness firsthand the challenges and joys of working within urban ministry. Participants join in Bible Study, Sunday worship, guided walks around our communities, and conversation with communities leaders. In addition to being immersed in our multicultural congregations, students are introduced to local community-based organizations working to improve conditions within our communities. These organization include but are not limited to, CLUE, SAJE, and Hope Street Family center. Housing is normally provided by members within our communities.

Alternative Spring Breaks
Over the last several years, NCP been a site for many college groups participating in Alternative Spring breaks. Alternative Spring Break is a movement within Colleges where students forgo the traditional Spring Break options in favor of spending a week volunteering. This week-long experience provides students with the opportunity to participate in community service projects as well as to learn about issues of poverty, racism, hunger, etc. Example of service projects include: serving meals at a soup kitchen, gardening, working with youth, and creating and handing out hygiene kits to the homeless.

Spanish Immersion
Every January, New City Parish offers a two-week Spanish Immersion course. This course provides participants the opportunity to begin or continue the process of learning Spanish. Our Spanish classes are taught by professional teachers from CETLALIC, a progressive lanuage school based in Cuernavaca, Mexico. During the two weeks, students are encourage participate in a home stay with one of our Spanish-speaking families to further develop their language skills. In addition to class, participants learn about the work of urban nonprofits, study, reflect on relevant Bible themes., and learn more about this rich diverse city. This course are open to everyone.

Service Learning Trips
​Throughout the summer months, we host youth group interested in service. Groups are housed at our churches and participates in many of our service ministries. Examples of the service projects include, bagging groceries and serving meals during food distributions, working within our community gardens, painting projects, etc. Like many of our other trips, students are introduced to many of the organization working within LA to bring about change.
Youth & Family Ministry
NEW CITY PARISH HAS SEVERAL CONGREGATIONS THAT DELIVER AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING AND MENTORING PROGRAMS AND HAVE COMPUTER LABS FOR YOUTH USE.

NCP CONGREGATIONS OPERATE YOUTH SUMMER CAMPS.

YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN BOTH REGIONAL AND NATIONAL LUTHERAN YOUTH EVENTS INCLUDING PARTICIPATION IN THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF AMERICAN YOUTH GATHERING IN HOUSTON, TX IN JUNE 2018.

Cross-Cultural Ministry
The Urban Training has trained over 100 seminarians from Seminaries across the country in Urban, Multicultural Ministry and Spanish Language Training.
In 2011, the Urban Training Center offered Spanish Language courses to local pastors and lay leaders. Over 35 students have participated in these courses.
Justice Advocacy
NCP UNDERSTANDS THAT INJUSTICES COME IN DIFFERENT FORMS AND HAS BEEN COMMITTED TO PROVIDING ADVOCACY IN MANY AREAS INCLUDING:
